What are the minimum tread requirements? And how do I measure this?
In the UK, the minimum legal requirement for tyre tread is 1.6mm. While you can use a gauge to measure this, the simplest method is to use a 20p.
Place the 20p into the part of your tyre with the least tread. If the coin’s outer rim is visible, your tyres must be checked immediately.
Driving with below requirement tread is illegal and highly dangerous. Don’t risk fines…or, worse, an accident.

How to check your tyre pressure?
Firstly, you need to check your vehicle’s recommended tyre pressure- usually found inside the driver’s door or fuel cap.
Remove all of the dust caps from your vehicle. Place the pressure gauge on the tyre valve; this will give you the current tyre pressure.
Compare your reading to your vehicle’s recommended pressure levels. If your tyres need inflating, adjust the pressure on the air machine and begin inflating your vehicle’s tyres.
